Importance of Ganga Jaal and Hari naam in Sanatan Parampara together
This is a popular sloka. Mostly people chant it while they intake any kind of medicines to recover from an illness they got.
शरीरे जर्जरीभूते व्याधिग्रस्ते कलेबरे ।
औषधं जाह्नवीतोयं वैद्यो नारायणो हरिः ॥
Pronunciation:- shariray jarjari bhute vyadhi graste kalebare | Oushudhang jaanhavi toyam vaidyo narayano harih ||
🤩🙏🤩

But this sloka can be interpreted in a different way also and that is...
Here the word "shariray" can be interpreted as Body and all kinds of bodies; means Pancha Kosha or Five Cellular Bodies and Trayi Sarir or Tri Bodies.
- Pancha Kosha:- Annamaya Kosha, Pranmaya Kosha, Manumaya Kosha, Vigyanmaya Kosha, and Anandamaya Kosha.
- Trayi Sarir:- Sthul Sarir, Shukshma Sarir, and Karan Sarir.
The word "jarjari" means "not able to function appropriately". This can be mean that the body which is affected by "jarjari" that body can be affected by Oldege or even by any kind of illness.
The word "vyadhi" means "any kind of illness". The word "graste" means "Engulfing or Spreading across".
The word "kalebare" means "ropam" in the Sanskrit language. It means all the kinds of stuff of a person like personality, character, habits, ideology or perspective, etc. An alive person has got three types of kalebar. The types are...
- Sthul Kalebar
- Shukshma Kalebar
- Divya Kalebar
1. Sthul Kalebar:- This is a type of Kalebar that can be seen and touched; basically it is tangible and physical in nature.
For example}- Physical body and its complexion.
2. Shukshma Kalebar:- This is a type of Kalebar that can only be experienced.
For example}- Character of a person, Habits of a person, Ideology of a person, etc.
3. Divya Kalebar:- This is a type of Kalebar that can be experienced and the result of a person's dedication and determination towards a certain goal and the type of that goal can be either materialistic or spiritual or even both of them combine.
For example}- Personality of a person.
The word "Oushudhang" means "Medicine". The word "jaanhavi" is the name of Devi Ganga, the holy river. The word "toyam" means "Jaal or Water". To be precise, "toyam" means "purified or filtered Water".
The word "vaidyo" means "Doctor". The word "narayano" means "Narayana, the Supreme absolute one". The word "harih" means "one who steals all the sins and fake egoistic emotions from a person inside".
So, in this sloka, it is encrypted that all the dysfunctionalities and illnesses of all levels of a human's body can be disappeared just by Ganga Jaal and Narayana's name.
It is not described in the sloka that either drinking or bathing in the Ganga Jaal would work as a medicine to cure all the dysfunctionalities and illnesses. So, here I will consider both drinking and bathing and either drinking or bathing also.
Explanations 1:- Impurity in the physical body is considered an illness in Sanatan Parampara. Because "Saucha" or "Cleanliness" is considered as one of four pillars of Sanatan Dharma and Bathing is the only way to clean that impurity. Drinking water is no doubt essential for living. But, Why Ganga Jaal? The answer to this question is that Ganga Jaal has unknowingly something which today scientists called Bacteriophages. That to 3 times higher than any other river of this land. Now, What is this? The answer to this is that the Bacteriophages are a kind of virus that kills bacteria, they are frequently found in proximity to each other. Our ancient rishis knew this before thus they recommend Ganga Jaal as a Medicine.
There is a news article about this which was published in the year 2019 in The Hindu newspaper. I'm providing the link as a reference. This link is Ganga has a higher proportion of antibacterial agents: study. There is another Research report on Ganga Jaal. This research was conducted by INTERNATIONAL AYURVEDIC MEDICAL JOURNAL. The link is:- OBSERVATIONAL CASE STUDIES OF GANGAJAL THERAPY. Thus, Ganga Jaal.
Now, "vaidyo narayano harih ||" Vedas say "Narayan is everything" and chanting Narayana's names is the best Meditation of all. To prove this fact I am going to quote the statement enchanted by Mahadev himself to his beloved wife Devi Parvati. The statement is:-
"उमा कहउँ मैं अनुभव अपना। सत हरि भजनु जगत सब सपना।।" (In Devanagari script)
Pronunciation:- "umā kahauom maiṃ anubhava apanā. sata hari bhajanu jagata saba sapanā."( In Roman script)
This is from Ramcharitmanas, Aranya Kaanda, Doha number 39, Chupai number 1.3. It says that Chanting Narayana's names whom Mahadev identified here as Harih (Because it is also Narayana's one of the names) are the only truthful thing to do rest of all are mere falsehoods. Because, Mahadev is the AdiGuru (as per Vedas) along with Tribhuban Guru (as per Puranas), thus his statement is enough to prove this fact.
Explanation 2:- This sloka can also be interpreted as Doctor is Narayana, because they save lives and River water is the medicine of human civilization. If any river disappears then the civilization which is emerged near its banks will also disappear, because it depends on it.
🙏Hari Om Tat Sat🙏
